Inside My Creative Process

If you’re anything like me, you’re almost obsessively curious about how other creatives work. From their daily routines to how they sketch out ideas to where they find inspiration, I love taking a peek into the minds of other creative folk. I’m such a voyeur to be honest.

So today I thought it’d be fun to walk you through my own creative process, from idea generation to the final product. Like many creatives, I struggle with self-doubt (read: hating myself and everything I make), perfectionism, and comparison, so I’ll touch on those topics as well.

Recent Work: With You

withyou_final_wordmark_dbiege

Hello and happy September! With You is my most recent self-initiated project, a mixed media series that combines my love of art direction, graphic design, and cake taking pictures. Oh how I love cake taking pictures.

For this project I rummaged through thrift shops for the perfect props, designed a typeface inspired by 1980s paperbacks, and badgered my aunt to send me a photo of my grandparents looking mad on their wedding day. It was so. much. FUN.

I’m producing another series like this for Halloween so stay tuned…
